Southend United

Alan McCormack re-signed for Southend United in September.

The midfielder, who previously made over 150 appearances at Blues before leaving in 2010, was brought in to add a wealth of experience to a young squad.

He previously signed a permanent deal at Roots Hall from Preston North End in January 2007 following a fruitful loan spell and made a name for himself for his tenacious and committed style of play.

The Irishman went onto play for Charlton Athletic, Swindon Town and Brentford after leaving Southend, before successful spells at Luton Town and Northampton Town where he won promotions in three consecutive seasons.
