Southend United announced the signing of goalkeeper Mark Oxley from Hibernian on a two-year deal in July 2016.
Oxley joined Blues after playing over 90 games for the Scottish Championship side during a two-year spell with Mark notably scoring on his league debut from a keeping clearance against Livingston.
It wasn’t the first time Mark had been snapped up by Phil Brown, who signed him in 2008 following Hull City’s promotion to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old, originally from Sheffield, started his career at Rotherham United before joining Hull City where he subsequently spent time on loan at Walsall, Grimsby Town, Burton Albion & Oldham Athletic respectively.
His first season at Roots Hall was blighted by injury, but he recovered for the start of the 17/18 season to re-claim the number one spot.
