Southend United announced the signing of striker Nile Ranger in August 2016 on a deal until the end of the season.
In December, Blues announced Ranger agreed terms on a long-term contract which will keep him at Roots Hall until 2020.
The former Newcastle United player initially spent a one-month trial period at the Club in July, before earning enewed terms for the coming season and then signing his new deal.
The striker began his career on Tyneside making 62 appearances for Newcastle. During his time at the club, he spent a period on loan at Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday - helping the latter achieve promotion from League One in 2012.
As the promotion race between the Owls and neighbours Sheffield United went down to the wire, Ranger stepped up to score against Wycombe Wanderers on the last day of the season to seal a 2-0 win and promotion back to the Championship.
Ranger left Newcastle for Swindon in 2013 and scored 10 goals for the Robins before moving to Blackpool in August 2014.
