Michael Turner became Phil Brown's third summer signing ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Turner has amassed over 400 appearances in his career with over 100 of those appearances coming in the top flight.

He signed his first professional deal for Charlton Athletic in 2002 and was loaned out to Leyton Orient and Brentford in his two years at The Valley.

The 33-year-old turned his loan at Brentford into a permanent one before he made an appearance for Charlton.

A three year stint followed at Hull City between 2006 and 2009 where Phil Brown was in charge. Turner made 146 appearances for the Tigers including against Bristol City at Wembley as they were promoted to the Premier League.

Steve Bruce signed the centre back for Sunderland in 2009 where he spent three years, playing alongside fellow Blues centre back Anton Ferdinand.

Turner left the Black Cats in 2012 for Norwich City. Whilst at the Canaries, he helped the club secure promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs before loan stints at Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.
