Still only 21, the 2020/21 season is Elvis Bwomono’s fourth in the Southend United first team and he continues to grow as a player and a leader.
Impressive performances in the Academy led to his breakthrough in 2017.
The right-back’s debut came against Gillingham in the EFL Trophy, and he went on to make 14 appearances that season as he deputised for Jason Demetriou when he was injured or on international duty.
At the start of the 2018/19 season he was handed the number two jersey and continued to fight for first team opportunities, scoring his first professional goal in a 3-0 win over Southampton U21 in the EFL Trophy.
A near ever present in 19/20 with 39 appearances in the curtailed season, missing just one of the 35 league games, the attacking full-back is closing in on 100 Southend appearances.
