Bio
Debut:
Thato Molefi is a second-year centre-back.
Danny Heath: "Thato is a hard-working player that works hard at his game to become even better. Thato is excellent at defending 1v1, and he embraces the physical side of the game. Thato effectively wins his 1v1 defending duels both in the air by being a good headerer of the ball and he can effectively regain the ball on the floor with tackles and interceptions. He shows a great desire to try and stop the opposition from scoring. Thato is also a very good communicator on the pitch by talking to his teammates and other units to ensure that they are organized."
Thato: "I have been at Southend for two seasons now, joining from Concord Rangers after being recognized at a talent game and from there I've been playing under-18s football. For me, the most memorable moment being a Southend United player was being able to make my first team debut against Canvey Island where I played 20 minutes off the bench. When being a Southend United player, it is about being dedicated every training and matchday to become a better player and do what best for the team and what I enjoy most about it, is the togetherness between all our players and how we act as if we are one family."
