Julius Nwike is a second-year centre-back.

Danny Heath: "Julius is new to the youth team this season after coming in on trial at the end of the 2023/24 season. Julius is a hard-working player that always shows great commitment and professionalism. He always defends with controlled aggression to win his 1v1 defending duels whilst showing the ability to do this both aerially and on the ground. Julius can also effectively build and begin team attacks from the defensive third by passing and running with the ball into forward areas of the pitch.

Julius: "I’ve only recently joined Southend United and it has been a pleasant experience as I’ve felt welcomed at the club from the very first day. The coaches have taken my game to the next level since I’ve joined, which I'm pleased with. My most memorable moment at the club was when children from the summer soccer schools asked me to sign their boots."
