Midfielder
Bio
Debut:
Joe Buck is a second-year midfielder.
Danny Heath: "Joe came in on trial with us in August 2024. Joe is a hard working and athletic player that shows the ability to effectively get up and down the pitch to be effective in both attacking and defending situations for the team. In possession Joe shows good ball retention skills in tight areas and he has the eye for a forward pass to create goal scoring opportunities for others. Out of possession, Joe works hard to press with speed and controlled aggression to regain the ball and to also deny the opposition time and space."
Joe: "I started off my career at Ridgeway Rovers and played there from the age of 8 until 11. From there I joined Chigwell alongside training with Tottenham's player pathways. I then moved to Westcliff where I joined Great Wakering and played from the age of 12 until 16 also, playing for West Ham's performance academy for two years. From 16 onwards I have been playing for The Old Southendians men's first team and second team. In my first season I won the youth player of the season award. Being a Southend player means that the level of training has gone up a notch and I'm now playing at the level I feel I should be playing at. In the training sessions I feel like I push myself harder whilst still really enjoying it. There is a balance of hard work and fun. I now have a real goal to work towards which is to be signed by Southend's first team and I will work harder than ever before to get there."
