The winger joined on a one-year contract with a club option for a second year in July 2026. 

The 31-year-old scored seven goals in 30 appearances during Chesterfield’s National League title-winning 2023/24 campaign and boasts a total of 197 EFL appearances across his career, as well as two League One titles. 

Colclough started his professional career at Crewe Alexandra, where he made 60 League One appearances before joining Wigan Athletic in 2016. He scored twice in 10 appearances as the Latics became champions of the third tier, before spending the first half of the following season on loan at MK Dons. 

After Wigan fell back into League One ahead of the 2017/18 season, Colclough got four goals in 26 appearances to help his Club make an immediate return to the Championship as title-winners once again. 

Colclough then spent two years at Scunthorpe United, where he made a further 37 EFL appearances before joining Altrincham in November 2020, where he netted eight goals in 28 games in all competitions. A total of 18 National League goals in the next season and a half attracted the attention of fifth-tier high-flyers Chesterfield, who snapped up the winger in a bid to strengthen their promotion push. 

Having fallen to Notts County in the National League Promotion Final at Wembley, Colclough and the Spireites rectified the situation in 2023/24, finishing 12 points clear at the top of the division. 

Colclough remained a mainstay of the Chesterfield team in the EFL, making 36 appearances in 2024/25, before joining AFC Fylde in September 2025. He scored four goals in 10 appearances until his departure in January 2026.
