Oliver Gage joins Southend United following a 15-year career across the UK and North America, working in senior roles spanning football strategy, recruitment and performance.

He is recognised for combining data-driven insight with practical football expertise, helping clubs build effective recruitment processes, develop players, and create structures that support long-term success.

Oliver has held Director of Football roles in the United States with Loudoun United and Fort Wayne FC, where he led squad construction, recruitment and performance strategy. At Loudoun United, he oversaw a significant improvement in performance, taking the team from no play-off appearances to the top of the United Soccer League Championship table within 18 months on one of the league’s lowest wage budgets.

He has also worked at league level with the Canadian Premier League and previously held roles in Major League Soccer with Houston Dynamo, contributing to the club’s 2018 U.S. Open Cup success.

Alongside his club roles, Oliver has worked with organisations within the English game, including advising EFL and Premier League clubs and contributing to player development and coach education initiatives.

A Sheffield native, Oliver began his career in English football with Sheffield Wednesday before moving into North America.
