Maizie is a centre forward who loves scoring in the games that matter most. She started out at EMH in Hornchurch at around ten, and her most recent clubs before Southend were Grays, Haringey and Brentwood. She plays the game because of her grandad, who took her to her first match and still keeps her going when football gets tough. That has included coming back from a torn ACL and meniscus. Her best goal was a 40-yarder over the keeper against Luton Town. Before every game she re-does her socks until they feel right. Away from the pitch she plays futsal and builds Lego, and she’d love to play a few tiers higher one day.
