Debut: vs Hartlepool United, 14.12.2024
In December 2024, the Shrimpers announced the signing of Charley Kendall, who arrived on an 18-month contract with a club option.
Kendall joined from fellow Vanarama National League club Woking. He was born in Eastbourne and spent five years in Queens Park Rangers’ academy before joining his hometown club on loan.
He netted 30 goals across a few spells for the Sports, 25 of them coming in the 2021/22 National League South season.
The forward signed for Lincoln City in 2022 and scored on his debut for them, which came in an EFL Cup game.
While at the Imps, Kendall spent time out on loan at Sutton United, who were in League Two at the time, as well as Bromley and Dagenham & Redbridge.
He left Lincoln permanently in January of this year and added to his experience in the National League by signing for Woking.
Kendall played 35 league games for the Cards during 2024, scoring seven goals, before moving to Essex.
He scored an extra-time winner in our 2024 National League Play-Off Eliminator at Rochdale before forcing an own goal in the early stages of the Promotion Final at Wembley.
