Anssi Jaakkola is our Goalkeeping Coach.

The three-time Finnish international started his playing career in his homeland before moving to Italy with Siena.

After a brief spell with Slavia Prague, Jaakkola moved over to the UK and spent time with Kilmarnock. He then played in South Africa for a few years, returning to these shores with Reading and then Bristol Rovers, where he first worked with Kevin Maher.

He was appointed as the Pirates’ goalkeeping coach in 2022, hanging up his playing boots midway through the two seasons in that role.
