INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY’S RIVALS UNITE EVENT AT ROOTS HALL

20 May 2022

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Roots Hall for what will hopefully be a sun-soaked family event which can be enjoyed by all, whilst also raising fantastic funds for Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation and supporting John White’s testimonial, as he bids farewell to Southend after 288 appearances.

A number of current and former Blues are signed up for the event including Ryan Leonard, Michael Timlin, Adam Barrett, Darren Currie, Barry Corr, Ben Coker, Nile Ranger and TV Personality Mark Wright, totalling over 45 special guests.

Gates will open at 10am and fans who have already purchased tickets will be able to exchange for a wristband which will enable them to leave and re-enter the stadium at their choosing. The same will happen for those buying on the day. Tickets will be priced at £15 adults and £5 under 18s, cash only.

Blues supporters will be situated in Blocks C and D of Roots Hall, and access will be from the Far Post Entrance which is situated in the top half of the car park. There will also be access to the Far Post bar.

A Leyton Orient XI, which includes legends and fans, will take on a Southend XI at 11.30am before John White’s testimonial, between Southend and Colchester at 2.00pm. In between the two matches, there will be live music pitchside, mascot fun between Theo the Wyvern and Sammy the Shrimp as well as a MidexPRO challenge in which young Blues fans can win some cool prizes.

Local company Kickabull will be in attendance in the car park throughout the day in which fans can try to set a high score and climb the leaderboard against some of the footballers who will also be taking part. There’ll also be an ice cream van and food and drink available.

The official matchday programme will be available from the programme hut which is situated in the North East corner of the main stand, available for £3.

There will be a raffle on the day, which will be drawn pitch side on the conclusion of John White’s testimonial. Prizes include family days out at theme parks, four hours free tattooing, and many more cool prizes.

After the raffle, fans will also have the chance to place their bids on a number of items including a worn Harry Kane England shirt, as well as the match worn shirts from the legends on the day.

Please note that tickets, raffles, programmes sales will all be cash only.

There will be limited parking at the stadium, so please use alternative methods of travel if possible. The nearest station to the ground is Prittlewell, which is served by trains from London Liverpool Street.
