We’re delighted to once again be hosting Southend Foodbank at Saturday’s home fixture against Notts County.

The first donation day, which is organised through the Community and Education Trust, last November proved hugely successful as Blues fans raised 300kg in food and £1,200 in cash for Southend Foodbank at the game against Woking.

You can get involved again this weekend by donating tinned long-life food and toiletries

to the collection point located in the main car park. Bucket collections to donate cash will be located on both the East and West Stand entrances.

Southend Foodbank has been supporting people struggling to put food on the table across Southend and Rochford since 2013. Local need for the foodbank has increased every year.

In 2021 they gave support for >8,500 people, of which nearly 4,000 were children: more than double the amount in 2017. The year-on-year need is still increasing since the start 2022, which means more food and basic toiletries are needed every week.

To get this done, the foodbank relies on around 150 volunteers, working across eight locations, two warehouses and the help of nine supermarket collection points, along with dozens of other organisations and groups donating food and time.

It is the generosity and kindness of the community that keeps the foodbank open for those who need us. Thank you for your support again. For more information about how to help, or get help, from the foodbank please visit or find them on social media.
