We can confirm Kacper Lopata has returned to Sheffield United.
Originally signing on loan from the Championship side until the end of the season, the Blades have activated an option to recall the Poland U20 international following injuries in their first team.
Lopata made a brilliant impact at the club, both on and off the pitch, since his arrival in October.
In total he made 18 appearances in all competitions.
Blues Head Coach Kevin Maher said: "Kacper has been brilliant for us since the first day he joined and hopefully he goes on now and manages to play for Sheffield United.
"Thanks to both him and Sheffield United. It’s worked well for both clubs, in terms of the development of Kacper as a player and his impact in the team for us. He’s been great.
"He’s a great character and we wish him all the very best for the future."
The club would like to thank Kacper for his contribution and efforts in a Southend shirt and wish him every success for the future.
