Southend United are delighted to announce the signing of Chris Wreh.
The striker has penned a one-year deal which includes a club option.
Wreh joins following a successful trial with Blues, impressing with two goals and two assists in three games.
The 25-year-old was in prolific form for his former club Banbury United last season, scoring 23 goals and assisting 16 more as he helped the club achieve promotion to the National League North.
On his seventh signing, Head Coach Kevin Maher said: "During the games Chris has shown he knows where the goal is.
"He’s a strong boy and there’s plenty of room for improvement.
"He’s jumping up a couple of leagues, but we think the potential is there to be a good striker.
"His goals record last season was impressive and whatever level you play at, if you know where the goal is that’s the main thing. He certainly does and he contributes in assists as well.
"He will provide a good option for us and it was an area we were looking to add in. With what we already have I think he makes us more competitive.
"I’m pleased to get it over the line so he can continue working with the group."
Wreh, the son of the former AS Monaco, Arsenal and Liberia international striker, added: "Since I’ve come in the training has been very intense and I’m just very happy to sign now.
"My targets are to come in and play well, score as many goals as possible, impress the fans and get them off their seats.
"Week in, week out the aim is to try and score as many goals as possible and help the team win. Hopefully I can do that by being here.
"It’s a new level for me, I’m excited to step up and try and make a name for myself here.
"I had a rocky beginning to my career but I’m at the right age now where I’m more mature. The gaffer has put his faith in me and I’m going to try and repay him back.”
