Sam Dalby has been named Southend United’s Player of the Month for March after coming out on top in a supporters’ poll.
The 22-year-old found the back of the net twice last month, firstly during the 2-2 draw away to Chesterfield and then three days later at home to Grimsby Town.
Both goals came from the penalty spot and as a result Dalby now sits as the club’s top scorer with 10 goals in all competitions.
Dalby saw off Jack Bridge, who followed closely behind in second place by a few votes.
After winning the award, Dalby said: "It’s a great feeling to be named Player of the Month and I’d like to thank the fans who voted for me.
"I’m loving my time at the club and hope to finish the season strong and get a few more goals and wins too."
Sam will be presented with his award ahead of kick-off against Notts County by a supporter who casted their vote this week.
