Southend United midfielder Abu Ogogo has not suffered a broken foot.
Blues boss Phil Brown feared Ogogo was set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury against Solihull Moors on Saturday.
But Brown is now hopeful the summer signing, who has made just four appearances this season after suffering a hamstring injury against Stockport County in August, will soon be back in action.
"There’s positive news where Abs Ogogo is concerned and his foot is not broken,” said Brown.
"He kicked the underside of somebody’s foot in an aggressive way when you look back at the video.
"But hopefully once it settles down there’s no ligament damage and he could even be ready in a couple of weeks, you never know.”
