Ricky Duncan said: "First of all, we would like to thank the boys that are leaving the club for all they’ve done in their time with us.
"At this moment in time we feel it’s the right decision, but that’s not to say they can’t go on and do well for themselves in the game.
"All have been good servants to the football club and have given everything, and we wish them the best going forward.
"The ones that are staying have got an opportunity to continue their development at the football club.
"We know it’s a good group of young players and hopefully the virus stays away, which will enable some of the boys to go out on loan in the leagues which were shut down [last season]. That didn’t help the boys that have been released because they lost that opportunity. We’re hoping that won’t hinder this group."
Duncan added: "The Academy is a big part of the football club and it’s 16 years of work continuing next season.
"The Board have always backed it and they see the value in it. The Chairman has invested time and money into the Academy and hopefully we can continue producing players for the first team. That’s the main goal.
"Oli [Coker] pulled his shirt on in a first team league game at the end of last season and that was fantastic to see. We think there’s others who will be knocking on that door of the first team next season."
