Latest team news ahead of Scunthorpe United.
Blues face Neil Cox’s Iron away at the Sands Venue Stadium on Saturday – 3pm kick-off.
Mark Molesley said there’s plenty of competition for places at what is an important stage of the season and he want’s people to stand up and be counted, take the shirt and own the shirt.
Here’s the latest squad fitness report heading into the match this weekend.
“Ox is building on his rehabilitation and the next few days will be key just to see how he develops.
“Hopefully he’s nearing a return. Whether it’s Saturday, that might be a little bit too soon so we’ll wait and see.
“Monty [James Montgomery] is still in the building and training with us. As soon as Ox is fit then that becomes out of our control because the rules of the [emergency] loan are that it’s until your number one comes back from injury.”
“We had a behind-closed-doors game on Monday and James came through 45 minutes in that which was great.
“We’ve had to rest him down a little bit after that and he’s trained again today.
“The next day or two are going to be key, how he trains. He is still very early on.
“45 minutes after having a long period out probably isn’t enough to stake a claim at the moment, but if it isn’t this Saturday he should be pushing very close after that.”
“Terrell has managed to build on his minutes. He had 45 minutes for the U23s [last week], he’s built on those minutes again on Monday.
“He’s trained for the last couple of weeks so Terrell is nearing a return.
“We’ve been pleased with the work that he’s done in the last 10 days.”
“Nile’s had an operation on his groin with the hope that fixes it so he can continue to work hard and earn something at this football club.
“Unfortunately, it won’t be until next pre-season now. We’ll help him on his way to getting back on the pitch and proving himself again.”
