On Thursday Blues boss Mark Molesley spent 10 minutes chatting to young fan Alfie, who has been spending his pocket money on iFollow Match Passes so he can watch the club both home and away.
Molesley found out about Alfie, 12, after his teacher posted on Twitter an answer he gave to the question 'what freedom means to me', to which Alfie wrote 'Buying every single Southend United video match pass.'
After getting in contact with his parents we arranged a zoom call so Alfie could virtually meet the Manager.
The club arranged a full home kit for Alfie's mum to surprise him with while on the zoom, and Mark then invited Alfie to be a mascot and lead the team out at Roots Hall for a game of his choice next season. Alfie won't have to spend his pocket money any longer either, as we will provide him with a code for the remaining home games.
The full 10 minute zoom video call between the manager and Alfie can be viewed below (only basic iFollow pass needed).
