An appeal against Timothee Dieng's charge of improper conduct has been unsuccessful, and he will now serve a two-match suspension.
An FA Statement said:
"Timothee Dieng has been suspended for two matches following a breach of FA Rule E3 that occurred during Southend United FC’s EFL League Two match on Saturday [20/03/21] against Scunthorpe United FC.
"The midfielder denied committing a clear act of simulation that led to the dismissal of an opposing player during the 78th minute of the match and that this behaviour amounts to improper conduct.
"An independent Regulatory Commission found the charge to be proven during a subsequent hearing and imposed the appropriate sanction with immediate effect."
A separate appeal against Sam Hart's red card from Tuesday night's draw with Walsall was also unsuccessful and the defender will now serve a three-match suspension.
