Mark Molesley praised Timothee Dieng’s versatility ahead of what could be his 100th Southend United appearance.
The midfielder has also featured at centre back as well as further forward in an attacking position just off the striker during the 2020/21 season, making 25 appearances in total.
And the Blues boss commended the Frenchman’s attitude to rising to the challenge of being moved about in times of need throughout the season.
"Tim has been fantastic for us since day one,” said Molesley.
"He’s played in multiple positions and has excelled in every single one of them.
"He’s had one disappointing moment which was the sending off [against Mansfield] but despite that he’s been fantastic.
"His attitude and his ability to play so well in a range of positions that we’ve played him [has been fantastic] and he’s been great for us.
"I’m sure the 100th game is a proud moment for him, something for him to build on and he’ll want to make it even more memorable by hopefully celebrating in fine fashion with three points."
