Dorking Wanderers visit Roots Hall for the first time on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy with ambitions of continuing their good form.

Blues stand in their way, themselves with the intention of having a cup run and to get back to winning ways.

We’ve highlighted three players in Marc White’s ranks that are likely to feature.

Alfie Rutherford

The first man who will be hoping to scupper Southend’s chances of a win is forward Alfie Rutherford. The 23-year-old is Wanderer’s top goal scorer, with eight so far. Rutherford, who started his career at Havant & Waterlooville has four goals in the last week, including a hat-trick away at table-topping Oxford City.

Barry Fuller

Club captain Barry Fuller joined Dorking in August 2020 from League One side Gillingham. The 37-year-old has a lot of Football League experience, having played over 450 games for the Gills and Wimbledon respectively. Fuller is no stranger to Southend, having faced Blues 17 times in his career, where he has been on the winning side eight times.

James McShane

The final player who will be looking to stop Southend from reaching the next round of the FA Trophy is James McShane. Another one with an eye for goal, McShane has seven to his name already this season including one against Oxford City on Tuesday. He has over 200 appearances and 60 goals in the red and white and is a threat from midfield.

Tickets for the game cost £5 for adults, £1 for concessions.
