Benton continues his fine form for Aveley

13 December 2021

Promising goalkeeper Jamie Grossart headed out on work experience to Harlow Town midweek, whilst defender Miles Mitchell-Nelson joined Canvey Island in the Isthmian North Division.

We’ve taken a look at Blues’ academy prospects who are currently out on loan.

Jon Benton - Aveley

Jon Benton will surely be feeling on top of the world at the moment as he continues his fantastic form at Aveley. The midfielder scored the winner for the Millers as they moved within three points of the summit, after a 2-1-win v AFC Sudbury.

Tommy Davis - Heybridge Swift

Tommy Davis also continued his fine form, as the young defender played 90 minutes in Heybridge Swift’s 3-1 win over Dereham Town in the Isthmian North. Davis, who received a Man of the Match nomination, helped Swifts move up to ninth, just three points off the play-offs.

Damaray Anyadike, Ergis Shala and Jamie Grossart - Harlow Town

Jamie Grossart made his Harlow debut on Saturday, after joining the Hawks on Friday. The young shot-stopper couldn’t prevent defeat, however, as he was beaten twice as Aylesbury United won 2-1.

Neither Anyadike nor Shala featured, as they both continue their respective rehabilitation process.

Miles Mitchell-Nelson - Canvey Island

It was the debut Mitchell-Nelson had hoped for, as his Canvey Island side lost 1-0 to Stowmarket Town. The defender played 90 minutes as Canvey remained on top of the Isthmian North, level on points with Saturday’s opponents as well as Dereham Town.

O’Shane Stewart - Welling United

Stewart didn’t feature for the Wings as they lost 3-1 to Blues' opponents on Saturday in the FA Trophy, Dorking Wanderers, in the Vanarama South.

Eren Kinali - Hendon

Hendon’s match with Swindon Supermarine was postponed on Saturday after a number of COVID-19 cases in the Green’s squad.

Reiss Chandler and Jimmy Wallace - Bishop’s Stortford

Neither of Blues’ young duo featured for Stortford as their 1-0 win at Cray Wanderers meant that Stortford were 15 unbeaten in the league now.
