Meet the Blues Day proved to be a popular and extremely successful day!
Sunday saw Blues hold their annual family fun day back at the Training Ground and it did not disappoint – helped also by blue skies and bright sunshine for the majority.
Families flocked to Boots & Laces, taking up their chance to meet Phil Brown, Craig Fagan and the first team players.
It was also a chance to re-engage and reconnect with supporters after the pandemic which forced fans away, and the players were only too happy to mingle and meet everyone.
Phil Brown expressed his pleasure to be able to welcome the community into the club’s training base and to see smiles on the faces of everyone.
“I think it’s part of our jobs as manager, coaches, players to get out there and meet the fans, and not just entertain them on a football field.
“As far as I’m concerned, these kinds of days can only help us come together.
“Back-to-back relegations, it’s not been a great time at the football club but hopefully we can turn that around now.
“Re-engaging with the fans is always part of my job.
“It’s a great day and I’m glad we’ve done it. Even the NHS were there and some of the boys have had their jab.
“You see smiles on people’s faces, the sun is shining and ok we don’t have any results to reflect on yet but hopefully we will have a successful start to the season on Saturday.”
