Mark Molesley has provided an update on some players who have been out injured of late, including Lewis Gard who was stretchered off against Portsmouth in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy game.
Here's what the Blues boss had to say on him, and four other members of the first-team.
"That was a real low point of Tuesday night.
"I may be new to the club but I’m well aware of the previous injury that Lewis sustained and what a strong character.
"Not many players would’ve come back from that injury so I think he and everyone feared the worst when he was down in some discomfort and he was probably in shock himself.
"Hopefully it’s not as bad as the previous one and he feels a bit better than he thought he was going to be so that’s a good sign, but until we have that scan, which is happening within days, we won’t know.
"We have to let the swelling come out to get the best possible imagery but the early indication is that hopefully it’s not as bad as first feared but we can't say for sure without the scan."
Simeon Akinola and Alan McCormack
"The weekend has come too soon for Sim and unfortunately Alan McCormack as well.
"Alan hasn’t been out on the grass yet so we’ll try to do that next week to slowly build him up.
"Both haven’t been in team training yet.
"It’s frustrating for us but hopefully they’re not too far away.”
"Fortunately Harry came through the game [against Crawley] probably a little bit better than he thought he was going to.
"We’re managing him this week and we’ll make a call on him for the weekend.
"It’s in the back of our minds that he might have to have that operation at some point but hopefully he might not have to. We’re monitoring him daily.
"He’s back out on the grass now so we’re hoping to build him up over the next week or two to bring him back into full first-team training."
