The club have sought an explanation from the EFL and its streaming partner, Endeavor Streaming, regarding the iFollow live stream issues which prevented viewers from watching the opening stages of the game against Port Vale on Saturday.
It was the second time in a week that Blues fans have had their iFollow live stream experience interrupted due to technical faults, and the club recognises how important the iFollow live stream is to supporters who are unable to attend games currently.
Tuesday’s issue (vs Oldham Athletic) affected all clubs on the iFollow streaming service. Supporters impacted, both Season Card holders and Match Pass purchasers, should have been contacted by the EFL regarding compensation.
Saturday was an isolated issue impacting the Southend v Port Vale fixture, and the club have now had an explanation as to why, which reads:
"This issue was deemed to be operator error. While troubleshooting the audio issues that were impacting the same event for audio only, the Engineer mistakenly un-provisioned the video stream instead of the audio stream, which caused a drop in feed. The issues were corrected as soon as identified and further safety checks & processes have been put in place to prevent it from happening in the future.”
The club would like to again apologise to supporters and we, like them, do not expect the issues to occur again.
