Healthy Wellbeing: Academy Home Exercise & Technical Programmes

It’s not just our first-team players who have specific plans to follow.

Academy players, from the under 9’s age-group up, are also doing their best to maintain fitness levels, as well as technical skills.

With the help of the Southend United Academy staff, we are able to offer families and their children not only an insight into how the young, up-and-coming players are keeping active throughout these times of isolation, but also offer the opportunity to follow their home programmes, such as strength & conditioning and ball work, in order to keep active yourself during time at home.

As well as the work from home plans, Academy staff have set up Zoom chat rooms for members of the squad to catch up with each other and their coach, with a topic linked to the Academy philosophy discussed when they meet via video for 20 minutes each week.
