Southend United are actively searching for an emergency loan goalkeeper ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Gillingham.
That comes after Mark Oxley picked up a thigh injury against Coventry City at the weekend, which he will have a scan on tomorrow.
That, boss Sol Campbell says, is likely to keep him out for between 3-6 weeks.
“Mark is going to have a scan tomorrow and we will know the full extent of it after that," he confirmed.
"It’s a shame because he was playing really well.
"But it could be three weeks, or it could be six weeks.
"Hopefully it won’t be six weeks, but we’ll know more about the scan and we can take things from there."
Oxley’s injury leaves youngsters Harry Seaden and Callum Taylor, who have just one first team appearance between them, as the only available options.
