We are delighted to announce defender John White has signed a contract extension to stay at Blues originally until the 31st January 2021.
The 34-year-old has been at Southend United since signing permanently in 2013 and has made nearly 250 appearances for Blues.
White featured 12 times during the 2019/20 season after unfortunately suffering a recurrence of his broken arm following the first break against Sunderland in the last game of the 2018/19 season.
The experienced centre back was pleased to extend his stay at Roots Hall, “Yes, I am really pleased to get the contract sorted in time to join in with the group from the start of pre-season today.
“I definitely feel like we all as a group have something to prove after what happened last year. I am really pleased that I will get the opportunity to turn the fortunes of this club around and move forward in a positive way.
John was excited to get in the swing of things today after an extended break due to COVID-19, “I cannot wait to get back into training as I haven’t seen a lot of this squad for some time now.
“I would like to feel like a footballer again as it has been an extremely long time since I was on a pitch competitively.”
