Former midfielder Michael Timlin offered his time earlier this week to answer some fan questions.
Timlin, 35, made 262 appearances during a seven-year spell at the club, playing a pivotal role in the 2014/15 promotion campaign from League Two via the Play-Offs.
The midfielder is currently on the books at Ebbsfleet in the National League having joined in January. Prior to that he made 23 appearances for Stevenage earlier this season.
His time at Southend began when Paul Sturrock, who had worked with him at Swindon Town, signed the former Fulham trainee on loan in September 2010.
A year later and he was back, again on loan, and it was during the 2011/12 that he finally made the switch a permanent one.
In a later to be published video, Timlin names his best Southend XI of players he played with at the club, but first is the Q&A from questions sent in by fans on social media.
