On Tuesday 10th September Southend United hosted their Official Golf Day at The Rayleigh Golf Club, with all funds raised from the event going to Prostate Cancer.
The weather on the day provided perfect conditions for any golfer with everyone involved having a great time away with a number of the first-team players.
The day kicked off at 1pm with a brief introduction about the day from none other than our very own David Crown. Refreshments and a fresh bacon roll set up the 12 teams for a long day ahead.
The first tee-off was at 2pm and after some great putting and excellent driving, the golfers enjoyed an evening meal inside the willow room.
Shortly after the meal finished Crown took to the stage and announced the winners of the following competitions:
Best First Team Player – Stephen McLaughlin
Nearest To The Pin – James Bax
Best Team – Green Light Office Solutions
Best Golfer – George Girling
Wooden Spoon – Nathan Bishop
We would like to thank The Rayleigh Golf Club for hosting the event, the 18-hole course was incredible.
Southend United would also like to thank everyone that participated in this year's Golf Day and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!
