Gary Waddock is looking for a reaction from the players at Tranmere tonight.
Blues were beaten by AFC Wimbledon last weekend 4-1, and Waddock called the current run of form “unacceptable”.
He made it clear that the players must give a much-improved performance under the lights at Prenton Park.
"The players need to react,” said Waddock.
"It’s unacceptable, really, the current situation that we’re in and the players need to respond to that.
"Once they go over that white line all the preparation has been done, and it has been for a period of time now.
"So, the players will have to take responsibility and put in a performance that’s for sure."
Tranmere picked up their third league win of the season against Coventry City last weekend.
Waddock added that Blues will need to be ready to deal with a more hostile reception and a confident Tranmere side.
"I’ve been up there on many occasions and they’re a good crowd.
"I know their manager well, their staff and the crowd are really vocal and get behind their team.
"It’s a great atmosphere and I like going up there, it’s a good club, so we need to react to that, embrace that and put in a performance.
"Last weekend will be a confidence booster for them, getting a really good result on the road.
"We’ll have to make sure we set our stall out early and stay in the game."
