Timothee Dieng couldn’t take any solace from his goal against AFC Wimbledon.
The midfielder played his first league game of the season in the 4-1 defeat to the Dons on Saturday, scoring in the 13th minute what turned out to be just a consolation.
But he cut a very disappointed figure at full-time as Blues were well beaten on home soil.
And he said the players need to shoulder the responsibility for the defeat.
“We are not happy and we know it is not good enough from every player on the pitch,” said Dieng. “We have to do better.
“We conceded early goals in both halves and it’s not the first time it has happened to us this season or last season.
“We have to improve in that period.
“After our goal I thought we played well, we were on the front foot, we had the ball and we passed the ball in a good way, but after half time we conceded the goal after five minutes. We can’t keep doing that.
“I think we have the quality in the squad but we’ve said that for a long time now. We need to show that we can get results.
“It’s on us players and we have to do better.”
