Job Title: Media & Marketing Officer

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week Salary: Competitive

Location: Southend United Football Club (Roots Hall Stadium)

Responsible to: Southend United Community and Educational Trust (SUCET) Community Manager (Quality & Impact)

Main Purpose: To be responsible for the marketing of SUCET’s operations

Key Responsibilities

1. Design

1.1 Provide excellent design templates for SUCET’s projects and events

1.2 Ensure a consistency of branding across all areas of marketing

1.3 Ensure all social media outlets are up to date with appropriate design

1.4 Have a basic knowledge of Adobe photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Google Analytics

2. Digital Media

2.1 Maintain a high level of media activity on all outlets

2.2 Grows and expands SUCET social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increase presence on existing platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

2.3 Capture quality & appropriate footage and photos to share across sites

2.4 Manage and maintain SUCET’s website

2.5 Track and analyse website and social media traffic flow and provide regular internal reports

3. Events

3.1 Ensure all events are suitably advertised in a timely fashion

3.2 Organise and manage a yearly plan of key events and campaigns

3.3 Assist in the creation and maintenance of SUCET’s communications plan

3.3 Utilise SUFC matchdays to gain maximum exposure

3.4 Create press releases for club website and local paper

4. Partnerships

4.1 Create relevant relationships with key stakeholders

4.2 Ensure marketing compliance with all funded programmes and partners

4.3 Drive key partnerships using all media platforms

4.4 Liaise regularly with internal staff ensuring project KPI’s are met with a digital presence

5. Supervision and Leadership

5.1 Ensure a high level of personal customer service in all dealings.

5.2 Promote a customer focused culture by example, providing a professional, friendly and courteous service to all customers.

5.3 Promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment, adhere to all statutory requirements.

5.4 Act as an ambassador for Southend Utd Football Club.

6. General

6.1 Promote anti-discriminatory practices in all work undertaken

6.2 Understand the work and aims of SUCET and be able to discuss them competently with customers

6.3 To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job

6.4 Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner at all times

Carry out duties in accordance with the employing agency equal opportunities policy, safeguarding, information security policies, financial regulations and the Health and Safety at work Act.

Special conditions:

Keep records of financial spend and maintain records, statistics and information, both quantitative and qualitative, for monitoring purposes and contribute to the on-going development of the organisation

The post holder will be required to work some evening and weekends as the requirements of the job demands

Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post
