Blues' top goalscorer Simon Cox has won the supporters' vote for the Genting Casino Player of the Month award in April.
Cox has played a big part in Southend's games this season and in April's fixtures, he was on hand again to help out.
The 32-year-old forward helped set up the opening goal in Kevin Bond's first game in charge for Southend (Fleetwood Town - Saturday 6th April).
After a defeat to Wycombe on home turf a reaction was needed from the players and Cox opened the scoring against Walsall after catching out Saddlers keeper Chris Dunn, but his goal wasn't enough to earn a win.
Three days later on Easter Monday Cox got himself two assists, the first helping Sam Mantom to score the first goal of the game, then later on in the second half the fox in the box gave Harry Bunn a helping hand by laying the ball off to him inside the six-yard box to make it 2-0 to Blues.
Congratulations on a great month Coxy!
His Genting Casino Player of the Month award will be presented to him prior to kick-off ahead of the Sunderland game.
