Chris Powell gives us the team news ahead of Southend United's match against Scunthorpe...
On Stephen McLaughlin...
"Stephen welcomed a new addition to the Mclaughlin family which we are all very pleased about and very proud of him and his wife.
"He was nervous about traveling on Saturday and those moments are with you for life, football is just a small part of your life and career so he stayed with his wife which is the right thing to do.
"He welcomed a young lady to the clan, so we're really pleased, he’s trained and is happy so he could be in the squad against Scunthorpe."
On Stephen Humphrys...
"Stephen Humphrys is now waiting for his operation which should be this week, he couldn’t do it last week due to the complexity of the injury and the operation itself.
"But hopefully, that will go well and then it will all be about the rehab from then on."
On the other members of the team...
"John White has just started training, so he won’t be ready for Scunthorpe, but he could potentially be in for the AFC Wimbledon game.
"Mark Oxley I envisage will be in training on Thursday, he’s been doing some light handling and doing some real good goalkeeper work with Lee (Harrison).
"Hopefully, he will be in contention for training on Thursday as long as there’s no reaction.
"Stephen Hendrie has just started running, just light running no ball work, he’s just started running with Stefano (Russo).
"Finally, Luke Hyam has had stitches after the horrific tackle, he’s trained since then and as long as he recovers well, he should be in contention."
