Chris Powell will welcome back Dru Yearwood into contention for tomorrow’s clash against Barnsley.
The midfielder has missed the last three games due to suspension.
And Powell was keen to point out that Yearwood is still very young.
“With Dru we’ve got to be quite calm,” said Powell.
“He’s only just turned 19 and he’s having new experiences all the time.
“Some are good like last year and some are bad like this year, with injuries, a sending off and no pre-season.
“It’s almost as if he’s playing catch up and always trying to impress everyone but sometimes it takes time.
“For a young 19-year-old man it’s hard for him to grasp that.
“All players make mistakes, it happens to experienced players too, but sometimes youngsters have to go through these experiences to make themselves better in the long run.
“You also have to be calm with the likes of Elvis (Bwomono), Nathan (Bishop), Isaac (Hutchinson) and Charlie (Kelman) and let them grow at their own pace.
“Dru’s like that. If he starts a game everyone thinks he’s going to be like last year, which he might after a run of games.
“Those are the things you learn. We constantly talk to him, he does extra every day and let’s hope in the remaining 12 games he plays a part. But if it’s not in those 12 games, then let’s look at it for next season.”
