Kevin Maher praised his side’s never say die attitude as they came from 3-1 down to record a 4-3 victory over Cheltenham Town in the Central League.
The goals were scored by Norman Wabo, Michael Klass, Isaac Hutchinson with a rasping volley from 18 yards and then Sam Knock in the closing stages.
Maher did rue the goals conceded but was pleased with how they fought until the final whistle to claim the win, their third in four games.
“It’s following a pattern for us this season,” he said.
“I’m really pleased with the character of the boys to come back into it.
“The goals we conceded were poor. We probably had more of the play and the better of the chances, but we gave away too many cheap goals which has happened a lot this season.
“I said to the players they’re lucky enough to play for this club and it’s a great attitude to never give up, always keep going and never throw the towel in.
“No matter what happens you keep going and keep trying.
“You never know what might happen if you get one goal back and all of the sudden the momentum is on your side.
“Thankfully we kept going and got the win.”
The win over the Robins extended the U23’s unbeaten run to four games coming on the back of a 3-2 win over Forest Green Rovers two weeks ago.
Next up is a trip to Bristol Rovers.
