Southend United will begin their 2019/20 campaign away to Coventry City when the Sky Bet League One season kicks off on Saturday 3rd August, a game which will be played at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium.
Kevin Bond’s side will welcome Blackpool to Roots Hall in their first game at Roots Hall before rounding off August with encounters against Lincoln City, Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers.
As well as facing Posh on a Tuesday night, there are midweek games away to Shrewsbury Town, at home and away to Doncaster Rovers and away to Darren Ferguson's Peterborough.
The Christmas period begins with a trip to face Bolton Wanderers, before a home game against MK Dons on Boxing Day, Bury away on Saturday 29th December and then at home to AFC Wimbledon on New Year’s Day, while the Easter Weekend sees Blues welcome Wycombe on Good Friday and then travel to Rochdale on Easter Monday.
The season will conclude on Sunday 3rd May at Roots Hall against Shrewsbury Town, a 12pm kick-off.
