Kevin Bond is pleased with how his side’s preparations for the new season have gone.
Blues begin the 2019/20 season away to Coventry at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium on Saturday.
And Bond, who also revealed he’s working hard to add to his squad, said there’s still work to be done.
"Overall in terms of preparation it’s been good," he said.
"The football messages we’ve been trying to get across are getting across, but I can’t say we’re done and ready to go. We’re not finished and that’s from a players recruitment point and with the principles we need to work and improve on.
"It’s an ongoing thing but with the exception of Luke Hyam, Timothee and Simon Cox everyone has got through it pretty well.
"Coxy came back injured, he didn’t get injured in pre-season, and the other two did their calves on the first day. Overall, it’s been pleasing.
"I would like to strengthen our squad before the window closes.
"I’m working really hard with everybody on that and the chairman is doing a great job for me on that front too."
