Bond on Exeter friendly and team news

17 July 2019

Blues face an Exeter City side behind closed doors this morning in which some players will get 90 minutes of action, Kevin Bond has confirmed.

The squad have been training in the south west for the past five days following last Friday’s draw against Weymouth.

And Bond is pleased with the camp which concludes today with another friendly match.

“This will be the first game we have a few outfield players playing for the full 90 minutes,” said Bond, who confirmed summer signing Nathan Ralph would figure at some stage in the game.

“We’ve slowly stepped things up and they’re ready now to push things on.”

“It’s been a very good few days and we’ve been able to get a lot done here.

“We’ve done double sessions most days and the players have been working hard.

“The facilities and everything here have been good and I’m pleased with the way it’s gone.”

STARTING XI: Oxley, White, Kiernan, Lennon, Ralph, Milligan, Yearwood, Mantom, Robinson, Humphrys, Goodship.

HALF-TIME: Exeter 1-0 Southend - Alex Fisher gives the Grecians the lead five minutes before the break.

FULL-TIME: Exeter 2-1 Southend - Stephen Humphrys' third goal in pre-season comes in vain as a brilliant strike from Exeter's Jake Taylor 20 minutes from time ends up being the winner.
