Southend United Community & Educational Trust, London Southend Airport and easyJet have teamed up to create a unique partnership and devised the fantastic opportunity to engage with the local community.
SUCET will be running a “You Know the Drill” style competition with eight pupils at eight primary schools in Southend, with the winner of each school making it through to a grand final held at London Southend Airport and hosted by Chris Powell on Thursday 11 April 2019.
The lucky winner of the grand final will be heading, with their family, to an all-expenses paid trip to Barcelona on Friday 19 April 2019 to witness Barcelona play live at Camp Nou – this also includes easyJet flights and a three-night stay in a four-star hotel!
14 schools will be put into the hat for the draw and only 8 will be in with a chance of taking part in the challenge, the schools will be drawn out by Blues manager Chris Powell so keep an eye out on Friday to see who will take part.
SUCET is incredibly proud of its affiliation with Southend United Football Club, but the Community & Educational Trust is about so much more than football. It strives to engage with and enrich the lives of people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and interests. Using a variety of Sports Participation, Health & Wellbeing, Education & Training, and Community Cohesion programmes to reach people throughout South-East Essex.
London’s favourite airport is providing sponsorship funds and will work alongside SUCET on a number of initiatives that will be announced in due course.
As a result of the relationship, London Southend Airport’s logo will also appear on all of the kit worn by SUCET staff, so keep an eye out for them!
