This Easter Monday, as we take on Burton Albion at Roots Hall (1pm KO), we are encouraging fans to turn out in old Southend kits for our annual ‘Retro Day’, so the matchday programme has a different look to it.
The ‘Retro Day’ programme has been designed into the style of the programme during our 1972/73 season which was our first season in Division Three following our Division Four promotion.
Included inside the matchday magazine is an in-depth look at our visitors, the Brewers, and we also profile next season’s U9s age group who will be presented pitchside at half-time. There's U23s and U18s reports and Youth Team midfielder Jon Benton is the ‘Getting To Know’ feature.
There is a round-up from the Community and their soccer stars competition alongside Southend Airport and EasyJet, as well as their half-term soccer schools which saw players attend, and a look back at the Junior Blues Easter Bowling Party.
Kevin Bond pens his programme notes to supporters and there's much more to look out for including a memorable match between Southend and Burton.
The programme will be on sale for £3 from the sellers around the ground and at half-time, as well as from the Main Ticket Office on Monday morning from 9am onwards.
