Bunn: "To finally get a win is a great feeling"

23 April 2019

Harry Bunn impressed for Southend in Monday’s 3-2 win over Burton Albion grabbing Blues’ second goal of the afternoon.

It was a much-needed and well-fought three points as Kevin Bond’s side saw out a nervy final few minutes to secure the three points.

Following the victory, Bunn spoke to the press and gave his thoughts on the afternoon.

On getting a victory against Burton…

It’s been a long time coming for us, especially at home. We’ve been working hard the past few weeks and the fans who came away to Walsall saw how much it meant to us. To finally get a win now it’s a great feeling.

On waiting so long for a win…

We were working hard and trying to do the things that we are good at, sometimes it’s a case of going back to basics and I think the last couple of games we’ve done that well. If you look at our goals, against Burton they were nothing too spectacular but when we’re at this stage of the season it's just all about getting points.

On being pinned back twice…

That’s probably something we need to improve on, we’ve given ourselves a great start in games and all of us feel we can see games out better and hopefully we will in the remaining games left.

On a personal note getting a goal…

It’s a great feeling but honestly, we needed the three points, so I was just delighted that we got the three points in the end.

On the remaining two matches…

We must go into them games positively. They are both two tough games for us but hopefully we can get three points up at Rochdale then we will be back down here with a bit of confidence against Sunderland and that should then be a great game.
