Southend United Football Club and The Shrimpers Trust have been nominated for an award at the prestigious 2018 Football Business Awards.
The nomination comes in the ‘Best Club & Supporters Group Relationship’ category alongside Cambridge United, Fulham, Portsmouth, Rochdale, West Brom and their respective fan groups.
Blues and the Trust have been recognised for the successful Moody Blues, Wheels for Liam – alongside SUCET – and Amble to the Addicks for Havens Hospices campaigns, as well as the Trust’s ongoing support for the Southend United Academy.
Paul FitzGerald from The Shrimpers Trust said: “We are delighted that the work we do ourselves and with club for the benefit of the Southend United community is being recognised. I really feel the partnership is as good as it’s ever been and long may that continue.”
Rhys Ellingham, Head of Commercial at Southend United said: “We are delighted that the ongoing hard work between the Trust and the Club has been recognised with this nomination. There are many hard-working volunteers dedicating their own time at The Shrimpers Trust who continue to be a positive and proactive influence, and this nomination is richly deserved.”
