Anton Ferdinand was pleased with another clean sheet and another point added to the tally after the 0-0 draw with Rochdale.
The defender contributed to another solid display from Southend who have now earned three clean sheets in three away games under Chris Powell.
Thoughts on the result...
It was a good away point and a clean sheet, which are the positives.
I thought we should have had a penalty and could have come away with three points but credit to the lads we dug in, away at a hard place, to come away with a draw.
That’s now three clean sheets away from home under Chris Powell…
As a defender that’s what you want, you base your game on getting clean sheets.
It’s not just the backline that have been doing it; Mark Oxley has been fantastic, pulling out great saves and as a team we’re defending from the front. All the way through the we look solid and we’re fighting for clean sheets.
Now it’s about turning one point into three…
When you’re getting clean sheets the next step is to start coming away with wins instead of draws.
I’m confident in the players in our dressing room, especially the attacking options we’ve got.
We’ve got players coming back like Woody [Anthony Wordsworth] who was fantastic and came through 90 minutes into his legs. He’s only going to get better.
We’ve got good players going forward so that doesn’t worry me.
