Ahead of this weekend’s game we take a look at the archives and see how we fare against Rotherham…
The last time the Millers visited Roots Hall was all the way back in 2013, the game ended in a 1-1 draw with Kevan Hurst getting his name on the scoresheet for Blues and John Mullins scoring for the visitors.
Blues’ result against Rotherham in the reverse fixture this season was the first time that the Millers had put more than three goals in Southend’s net during a game.
The same result also happened to be the first time since 1980 that Rotherham had beaten Blues on their home turf.
There has been just one Cup game played between the two sides, which also happens to be the first meeting between us and Rotherham. It was an FA Cup game in 1966 with the Millers coming out victorious after scoring a late winner.
We have faced Rotherham a total of 28 times, with Blues winning 11, drawing seven and Rotherham winning 10 making Southend the better side out of the two on that form.
Blues have never lost a game against Rotherham in the month of March (W2,D2).
